we are all lesbians

Gloria Grahame and Humphrey Bogart in 'In a Lonely Place' (Nicholas Ray, 1950)
"One day Gloria announced to Jeff that she had decided to seek out therapy 'to find out what is wrong with me' . . . She told Jeff that she was going to talk to her psychiatrist about their lesbianism; Jeff, astonished, said, 'What lesbianism?' Gloria asked if she remembered a night in Tahoe during the filming of Roughshod when she, Jeff and Jess's husband, Bill, were stuck in a small motel where they only had rooms with one bed in them, and so they all had to sleep together in the same bed for the night. Well, sleeping together in the same bed with another woman was lesbianism, and that's what she had to talk to the doctor about."
